Will be setting up the booth, passing out flyers for the A Christmas Story Run, tattoos and promoting the race trying to get people to register for our run.

Bag Stuffing @ Wendelin's Church

You will be stuffing race goodie bags for the runners with all the Sponsor's item's. We will be stuffing paper and other misc. items into a draw string type of bag. Location: St. Wendelin's Church 2281 Columbus Rd Cleveland, OH 4411

Packet Pick-Up Registration & T-Shirt Distribution

Packet pick-up registration will require you to have basic computer knowledge. Must be able to work at a fast pace! The laptops will be provided for you to work off of. You will be using scanner to scan bar codes to check ion registered runners. You will be checking in registered runners and assigning them race bibs with numbers.

T-Shirt distribution you will pass out the registered runner's t-shirt's/goodie bags to them. Checking the runner's bib for the proper registered shirt size. You will mark off the runner's tab for the t-shirt/goodie bag with a black X to ensure that they only claim the registered shirt/bags. There will be NO exchanging of sizes until after the race has concluded.

Volunteer Hostess

This job will consist of letting volunteers into the locked designated lunch lounge. Making sure that the food is stocked, beverages are cold and placed out for volunteers. You will be responsible for rotating the volunteers in & out for lunches. You will also be in charge of keeping the area.

Volunteer Check-In

This position will require you to be able to use a computer /laptop and be able to quickly look up your volunteers as they arrive at the start of their shift. You will give them their Volunteer t-shirt and direct them where they need to go. You will then be a trouble shooter after check in is finished for whatever needs arise during the Packet -Pick Up.

Race Day Volunteer - December 7

This job will require you to have general knowledge of location you are stationed at so that you can guide runners accordingly.

Water Station

Provide runners with water during the run.

Course Marshall Positions

Course Marshals will be responsible for an assigned location. They will monitor both traffic and runners during the race. Some major intersections will also be manned with Police. Marshals will stay at their assigned post until the completion of the event and can leave their posts only when instructed. You will also be responsible for crowd control and basic safety issues along the race route.

I know that volunteering for a road race is potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, and am in good health, and I am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them. I assume all risks associated with volunteering in this event, including but no limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including cold and/or snow and ice, traffic and the conditions of the road all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or roller blades, animals, and personal music players are not allowed in the race and I will abide by all race rules. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and inconsideration of your accepting my application as a volunteer, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Christmas Story Run, RoadRunner Enterprises 100 LLC, the City of Cleveland, and the Road Runners Club of America, all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.
